Food

FOOD OPTIONS FROM THE HOPE CENTRE

Whether you are in financial dire straights, finding yourself a bit short each month or simply fed up of throwing food away or cooking, we have a solution to support local residents.

HOPE PANTRY

The Hope Store is available to all local residents who are Hope Centre Gold level members. We stock a wide range of basic essentials, all donated from local businesses and through FareShare. Each week you can visit the store, follow our basic colour coding system and pay £3 for a bag of shopping, or £4.50 if there are more than 3 in your house and you'd like a bigger bag. Our 'Pay It Forward' system even allows you to pay for someone else's food or grab a bag when your pockets are empty.

BUY WHAT YOU NEED

If you live alone or don't eat much, you may find that food is constantly being wasted through having to buy large or family sized packs of food. Our 'buy what you need' section allows you to buy fresh items in small quantities so you spend less and waste less! A free Bronze Membership is required to use BWYN and you can pop in and use this whenever you fancy.

FRESH MEALS

Whether you're alone or have a large family, sometimes the thought of cooking is just a little much. We have a full menu of delicious meals which are prepared fresh on the day in the Hideaway Cafe and taken to the Hope Centre. You can pre-order a delicious meal (before 10am) for collection after 3pm for any number of people or just pop in and see what's available (fresh or frozen). Just get it home, follow the cooking/heating instructions and healthy, hearty food is ready to go. Fresh cookies are also available daily. Bronze Membership required.

DONATIONS

If you're in a position to donate good quality food items within their best before date, either as an individual, as an organisation or business, we would love to hear from you. We can't operate without the support of many, many generous people who provide us with the food and toiletries to distribute to our community. If you would like to give financially to support the work, that would be hugely appreciated.

KIDS PACKED LUNCHES

We've been providing food for children since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Throughout this year we will be supporting families with free packed lunches throughout the school holidays thanks to the generous funding from Trafford Housing Trust. If you will struggle through the holidays and would like help, please look out for our newsletter with sign up information.
