Can you help a family in need?
This winter the government will give every household £400 off their energy bill to help with the rising cost of living. The grant is given automatically as a discount on every fuel bill from October - March..

Whilst everyone is feeling the pinch, there are some families in dire straights whilst others could get by without the grant.
​
If you are in a situation where you can live without the grant, we would like to give you the opportunity to donate some, or all of your grant to a family who can't survive without the extra support.
​
By choosing to donate your grant, you will be matched with one (or more) family, and whilst we can't give you any personal details, you will be able to write a card or message to pass to the family if you wish.
How does it work?
From October 22 - March 23, for 6 months you should automatically receive a reduction of £67 and £66 from your energy bill, reducing your monthly payments in turn.

You can complete the form below, and make payment arrangements that suit you. You will then be matched with a family in Partington who are struggling and will not manage this winter without the additional support. Your donations will be given directly to them - either via a top-up by our team on their energy pre-payment meter or by an additional payment made to their monthly account.

How do you make donations?
Donations can be made monthly, or as a one-off up front donation.
You can donate a few pounds or the whole £400 grant if you wish.
Donations can be made via card payment online, through cash sent to the Hope Centre or via bank transfer or Standing Order.

Can we claim Gift Aid?
Yes! If you are a UK taxpayer we are able to claim an additional 25% on every pound that you donate. Any Gift Aid claimed will be used to grow the work of the Hope Centre and support more local people.
Who will receive the donation?
At the Hope Centre we work with hundreds of households who are struggling to make ends meet, and some who are in seemingly impossible situations.

We are approached for help many times each day by people who have had their energy go off and have nowhere else to turn. Every time we're approached for help our team take the time to talk through circumstances with the resident, look at what help they need, make referrals and offer advice and support to try and improve things going forward.
​
You will be matched with a household that we have an on-going relationship with, and one we know that despite best efforts, there is simply not enough income to meet the costs of the family over the next 6 months. The family will be given a message of encouragement from you, and know that they will be receiving additional support of the next 6 months. This will help ease pressure on the family and help with budgeting through the winter.

We also work with 5 other hubs across Trafford who offer similar support. If you wish to direct your donation to a specific area in Trafford we can pass on your donation to the local hub who will use it in the same way. You can specify this on the form below.
How to give
You can donate by filling out the form below and making your donation through a range of ways (see below). Our preference if possible is via bank transfer or Standing Order so that minimal charges apply and all of your gift can be given straight to a family in need. Our charity bank details are:
